Everyone will enjoy these deliciously coated tofu sticks!
Ingredients:
1 package extra firm tofu (16 oz)
1 cup of unsweetened plant based milk (I use oat milk)
1 cup panko bread crumbs
2 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 cup corn starch
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
Coating of your choosing, I like it with bbq & hot sauce, but you can make it with buffalo sauce, hot honey sauce etc.
Instructions:
Pre-heat oven to 420F, and line baking sheet with parchment paper.
Slice tofu in 6 slabs, width wise. Slice each in 3 pieces length wise. You should end up with 18 tofu sticks.
Set out 3 bowls. To the first bowl add cornstarch with garlic powder and onion powder. Stir to combine. To the second bowl add your plant based milk. To the third bowl add panko breadcrumbs and Italian seasoning. Stir to combine.
Take a tofu stick and cover it in the cornstarch mixture, then in the milk, and lastly cover with the breadcrumbs. Place on baking sheet. Repeat until you've coated all sticks.
Place baking sheet in the oven and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove tofu sticks and add them to a bowl, coat with whatever sauce you'd like and gently toss until coated. Put tofu sticks back on baking sheet, and put back in oven and bake for another 20 minutes.
Serve and enjoy!
Enjoy! :)
